For me, Saturdays usually mean another day of meeting wonderful people—families navigating one of the hardest moments of their lives.

It’s never lost on me how much trust people place in us. They invite us into a deeply personal part of their journey, and they allow us to guide them through decisions they’ve often never had to make before.

Twenty-three years later, I still leave work feeling grateful.

Grateful for the conversations.

Grateful for the stories.

Grateful for every family who has trusted me and our team with someone they love.

I genuinely love what I do, and I’m proud of the person I get to be when I walk into our offices each morning.

Every funeral home, cemetery, crematorium and transfer service has its own way of serving families, and every family has the right to choose what feels best for them.
This post is simply meant to start a conversation.
During a time when so many people are struggling financially, I believe it's okay to ask difficult questions. Is there another way? Can we honour someone's life with dignity, compassion and professionalism without feeling pressured to spend more than we can afford?
At Wilson Burial & Cremation, it's simple: care first, people first, price second.
Simple arrangements are not "less than." A direct cremation or simple burial doesn't reflect how much someone was loved. It simply reflects what is right for that family.
