If this is you, and you’re exhausteddddd not getting answers. I feel you because that was me.

I felt like a “complainer” and guilty because I felt like the problem child that was dramatic because I didn’t feel “normal”.

Wish I could say that I got answers, but I didn’t until I started diving deep myself.

That’s when things changed. That’s when I made the promise to never let other women feel alone too 🫶

As a functional medicine practitioner, I don’t look at one symptom and immediately assume one hormone is “low.”

Instead, I look for trends.

Maybe your sleep changes every month after ovulation.

Maybe your cycle has gradually become shorter.

Maybe you always spot before your period.

Maybe your energy crashes every luteal phase.

None of these symptoms automatically point to one diagnosis. But when several of them show up together, they’re worth paying attention to.

Your menstrual cycle is one of your body’s most valuable health signals.

The more familiar you become with your patterns, the easier it is to recognize when something changes—and to have more informed conversations with your healthcare provider.

✨ Save this post if you track your cycle, and tell me: what’s one change you notice after ovulation every month?

The way I approach health isn’t the mainstream approach, and that’s okay.

I don’t believe women should be treated like smaller versions of men.

I don’t believe “normal” lab values always tell the whole story.

I don’t believe prescriptions should be the only conversation when someone has chronic symptoms.

I don’t believe supplements can replace sleep, nutrition, movement, or stress management.

And I don’t believe the number on the scale tells us everything we need to know about your health.

That doesn’t mean conventional medicine doesn’t have an important place, it absolutely does.

It means I believe we should also ask deeper questions, look for patterns, and understand why symptoms are happening in the first place.

My goal has never been to chase perfection. It’s to help women understand their biology, build strong foundations, and create health that lasts.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is women being handed birth control before anyone takes the time to ask why their cycle is irregular in the first place.

Your period is one of your body’s biggest vital signs. If it’s irregular, painful, missing, or changing, your body is trying to tell you something.

Would I ask for every single one of these labs for every woman? No.

The right workup always depends on your symptoms, history, and goals. But these are some of the labs I commonly consider when I’m trying to connect the dots behind irregular cycles.

The goal isn’t to collect a bunch of lab values.

The goal is to understand why your body is struggling in the first place.

Thrilled to be mentioned in this month ❤️

What a privilege it’s been to be able to help & connect with all of the people that we have so far this year and in the last 5. It’s truly been so special.

If you would have asked 10 year old Austyn where she thought she would be at 31, she would have said her dream would have been to be engaged to my soul mate, have a solid group of friends, live by the beach, and own her own business helping people.

All of those dreams have came true these last few years and I owe it all to my parents, my fiancé, Clark, my sisters, brother, best friends, patients, and team. Without you, I would be nothing.

And that’s usually when I lean in 👀

Because “all my labs were normal”
after a laundry list of symptoms
doesn’t make me think nothing is wrong.

It makes me think something may not have been looked at deeply enough.

Because symptoms like fatigue, bloating, anxiety, weight resistance, painful cycles, hair shedding -

that’s not random noise.

That’s information.

And this is where so many women get dismissed.

Basic labs can rule out disease.
They don’t always explain dysfunction.

And those are very different things.

“Normal” has ended too many conversations that should have just been starting.

Because normal does not always mean optimal.
And symptoms don’t show up for no reason.

Sometimes the problem isn’t that your labs are normal.

It’s that no one has connected the pattern yet.

✨If you’ve been told everything looks “normal” but you know something feels off, comment “PROCESS” and I’ll send you how I approach this
