This weekend, I spent a few days at softball provincials and it was a reminder of something I often encourage clients to consider: coping strategies aren’t just things we talk about, they’re things we practice.
Being away from my family wasn’t easy. I missed the bedtime routines, the cuddles, and the little moments that make home feel like home.
At the same time, moving my body, laughing with teammates, and focusing on something I genuinely enjoy reminded me how restorative our hobbies can be. Sports have always been one of my coping strategies. They help me reconnect with myself, regulate stress, and recharge in a way that supports both my mental and physical well-being.
Next step? Rest and recovery 😴☺️
Whether it’s spending time in nature, playing a sport, creating art, reading a book, or simply sharing time with people you love, your coping strategies matter. They help you navigate life’s challenges while filling your cup.
