Winter isn’t the season for becoming more productive.
It’s the season for becoming more resourced.
In Chinese Medicine, winter is associated with the Kidney system — our deepest reserves of energy, vitality and restoration.
Yet this is often the time of year we push harder.
We drink more coffee.
Sleep less.
Keep saying yes.
Expect ourselves to operate as though it’s still summer.
Nature is doing the opposite.
The trees are conserving.
The soil is restoring.
The seeds are gathering energy beneath the surface.
Your body is not designed to bloom in every season.
Sometimes the most supportive thing you can do is slow down enough to replenish what has been depleted.
This winter, ask yourself:
What if my body isn’t asking for more effort?
What if it’s asking for more nourishment?
