is long-term swelling due to an inefficiency of the lymphatic system (which drains excess fluid).

There are 2 types:
1๏ธโƒฃ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ: because the lymphatic system didnโ€™t develop normally.
It can appear at birth, during teenage years, or even later in adulthoodโ€ฆ sometimes without an obvious cause.
2๏ธโƒฃ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ง๐๐š๐ซ๐ฒ: develops after damage to the lymphatic system.
Common causes include surgery (especially lymph node removal), cancer treatment such as radiation, infections, trauma, burns or other injuries.
