What a beautiful month July has been at Magdalenahuis! 💙💚
As we look back on the past month, we are reminded of how privileged we are to not only receive kindness and support from our community, but to give back through the work we are so passionate about.
8 & 9 July: We had the privilege of hosting social workers from Badisa TRIO for a two-day information session and workshop, where we shared knowledge about our services with a special focus on adoption🤝.
13 July: We took a moment to celebrate one of our own! We hosted a sweet and intimate baby shower at the office for a colleague who is expecting a beautiful baby girl🎀.
14 July: We welcomed a new group of expectant mothers to our Isiqalo Programme as they begin their 8-week journey. Through counselling, practical support, life skills and educational sessions, we look forward to walking alongside each of these women, empowering them to make informed decisions and preparing them for motherhood 👩🍼.
18 July: Mandela Day was truly one to remember. Thank you to the incredible generosity of so many companies and supporters, we received an abundance of donations that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. In return, our Isiqalo Programme mothers embraced the spirit of the day by spending their own 67 minutes spreading kindness, encouragement and positivity to one another💝.
24 July: We also had the pleasure of welcoming prospective adoptive parents to Magdalenahuis during our Open Adoption Information Session. It is always an honour to walk alongside families as they begin this life-changing journey 🧑🧑🧒.
24 July: Our social workers facilitated a workshop for the Department of Social Development (DSD), Milnerton equipping fellow professionals with knowledge and practical insight into the adoption process 🤝.
31 July: To round off the month, our social workers also attended a teenage pregnancy prevention programme at Zandvlei High School, where they engaged with Grade 10 learners and connected with various stakeholders. It was a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the support and services Magdalenahuis offers to teenagers, encouraging informed choices and ensuring young people know where to turn for guidance and assistance 🤍.
One of the greatest joys this month was celebrating the finalization of several adoptions. Through the dedication of our social workers, precious children found their forever homes and the loving families they deserve 🏡.
