Brain Harmonics East Rand

Brain Harmonics East Rand 🧠 Neurofeedback helps retrain brainwave patterns to improve focus, calm, and emotional balance.

It’s a non-invasive, science-backed way to support mental wellness, customized to each person’s unique brain activity. 🌟 Brain Harmonics uses neurofeedback to help people with problems such as…
• stress and anxiety
• depression
• unresolved emotional issues
• learning disorders
• problems with sleep
• post traumatic stress disorder
• anger, frustration and irritation
• lack of motivation
…and many

other problems and disorders
What causes problems and disorders? Some problems and disorders occur when our brains don’t produce appropriate brainwaves because they get out of balance – due to stress, information overload, illness and other factors. Neurofeedback can help with wellness and performance optimization
The good news is that neurofeedback has a high success rate in helping people rebalance their brains. Think of your brain as the pilot of an aeroplane, your nervous system as the controls and the body of the plane as your body. Making sure the pilot is in good shape (i.e. ā€˜balanced’) is the first step to harmonizing the whole body. After that you can work towards wellness and performance optimization

🧠 Introducing our new Inside Your Brain: Adult Series

Much of our work focuses on helping children understand and regulate their brains—but adults need support too.

Parents, teachers and caregivers are often so focused on helping a dysregulated child that they overlook their own overwhelmed nervous system. Yet children frequently rely on the regulated adults around them to help them feel safe, steady and supported.

You may be carrying anxiety, chronic stress, poor sleep, racing thoughts, sensory overload or the pressure of holding everything together. Looking capable on the outside does not mean you are not struggling on the inside.

Our new adult series will explore how anxiety and stress may present in everyday life, what we can learn through a qEEG assessment, and how neurofeedback may support greater regulation, recovery and resilience.

You deserve support—not only so you can keep helping others, but because your wellbeing matters too.

Sometimes, supporting a dysregulated child begins with supporting the overwhelmed adult beside them.

Follow our new Inside Your Brain: Anxiety & the Adult Brain series.

🧠 NEW - INSIDE YOUR BRAIN SERIES | Understanding Executive Function

Have you ever wondered why your child can spend hours building with LEGO or talking about dinosaurs… but can't remember to put their school shoes on?
Or why they know exactly what needs to be done, yet still can't seem to get started?

Executive function is often described as the brain's "management system." It helps us plan, organise, remember instructions, control impulses, switch between tasks and manage our emotions.
When these skills are still developing—or when a child has executive function challenges—everyday tasks can feel much harder than they appear from the outside.

In this slides, we'll explore what executive function really is, why some children struggle with skills that seem simple to others, and how understanding the brain can help us replace frustration with practical support.

Because children aren't trying to make life difficult—they're often finding life difficult. šŸ’™ When we understand how the brain works, we can support children in ways that build confidence, independence and success.

🧠 *NEW* INSIDE YOUR BRAIN SERIES | Understanding AuDHD

What happens when a child is both autistic and has ADHD?
It can seem confusing....

One moment they crave routine, the next they act impulsively.
They may want friends but struggle to connect.
They can hyperfocus on something they love, yet find everyday tasks overwhelming.

These differences aren't contradictory—they're the result of two neurodevelopmental conditions working together in one unique brain.

In this series, we'll explore what AuDHD really is, why it can look so different from child to child, and what is happening beneath the behaviours that parents, teachers and caregivers see every day.
Understanding the brain changes the way we respond—and when children feel understood, they are far more likely to thrive.

šŸ’™ Every child deserves to be seen for who they are, not judged for how their brain works.

🧠 NEW SERIES: Inside Your Brain – Understanding Autism

As parents, teachers and caregivers, we often find ourselves asking a lot of questions

The truth is…Autism isn’t poor parenting. It isn’t bad behaviour.

It isn’t a child choosing to make everyday life difficult. And it isn’t a broken brain.

Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental difference. It affects how the brain processes sensory information, communicates, focuses attention, regulates emotions and experiences the world.

When we understand what may be happening beneath the surface, we stop asking…

ā€œWhat is wrong with my child?ā€

…and start asking…

ā€œWhat is my child experiencing, and what support does their brain need?ā€

That’s why I’ve created this Autism Series as part of the Inside Your Brain collection.

My hope is that this series replaces judgement with curiosity, frustration with understanding and pressure with connection.

Because when we understand why behaviour happens, we are far better equipped to respond to the need beneath it.

Remember…Different communication is still communication.

Different play is still meaningful play. Regulation is not misbehaviour.

Support is not spoiling. And different does not mean less.

With understanding, appropriate support and opportunities to build on their strengths, autistic children can feel safe, valued and empowered to thrive as themselves.

Let’s learn together.

🧠 NEW SERIES: Inside Your Brain – Understanding ADHD
As parents, we often find ourselves asking...
"Why can they focus for hours on something they love, but not on homework?"
"Why do they forget instructions I gave them two minutes ago?"
"Why does everything seem so much harder than it should be?"
"Are they just not trying?"
The truth is...
ADHD isn't a lack of intelligence.
It isn't poor parenting.
It isn't laziness.
And it certainly isn't a child choosing to make life difficult.
ADHD is a difference in how the brain develops, processes information, regulates attention and manages everyday tasks.
When we understand what's happening beneath the surface, we stop asking...
"What's wrong with my child?"..and start asking...
"What does my child's brain need?"
That's exactly why I've created this ADHD series as part of the Inside Your Brain collection.
Over the next few weeks we'll explore:
🧠 Why attention seems to come and go.
⚔ Why emotions can feel so big.
ā° Why "5 minutes" doesn't always feel like 5 minutes.
šŸ’ Why children with ADHD forget, fidget, lose things and become overwhelmed.
ā¤ļø What ADHD strengths often look like.
🌱 Most importantly, how parents, teachers and caregivers can support the ADHD brain to thrive.
My hope is that this series replaces judgement with understanding.
Because when we understand why behaviour happens, we're far better equipped to help.
Remember...
ADHD is not a behavioural problem.
It's a different way of developing, processing and experiencing the world.
And with understanding, the right support and the opportunity to build on their strengths...
ā¤ļø Children with ADHD don't just cope—they can flourish.
šŸ‘‡ I'd love to know...
Which ADHD behaviour has puzzled you the most as a parent, teacher or caregiver?
Let's learn together.

🧠 NEW SERIES: Inside Your Brain – When Brains Develop Differently
As parents, we spend so much time asking...
"Is this just a phase?"
"Should I be worried?"
"Why does my child struggle with things that seem so easy for other children?"
The truth is, every brain develops differently.
Some children follow the developmental pathway we expect.
Others take a different route—not because they're lazy, naughty or less capable, but because their brains are wired differently.
The challenge is knowing the difference between normal variation and signs that a child may benefit from extra support.
That's exactly why I've created this new Inside Your Brain series.
Over the next few weeks we'll explore:
🧠 What different brain development really means.
🌱 What's typical—and what might be a red flag.
šŸ’› Why early intervention matters.
🧩 How the brain can continue to grow and change.
✨ Why understanding is always more powerful than judgement.
Then we'll dive into the different ways brain development can be affected, including ADHD, Autism, learning differences, sensory processing, executive functioning, anxiety, trauma and more.
My hope is that this series helps parents replace fear with understanding.
Because the earlier we understand a child's brain, the sooner we can support their strengths, reduce their struggles, and help them thrive.
Remember...
Different isn't less.
Different is simply different.
ā¤ļø Every child deserves to be understood before they are judged.

What happens when the brain begins to form...

Here is a visual journey through pregnancy to the early years and beyond, your child's brain is changing at an incredible pace. Every cuddle, conversation, bedtime story, and playful moment helps shape the person they are becoming.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing a series of easy-to-understand infographics that explain the science behind brain development—and, more importantly, what it means for you as a parent.

Together we'll explore topics like:
🌱 How the brain develops before birth
🧠 The first three years of life
šŸ’› Why connection is so important
šŸŽØ How play builds the brain
😓 Why sleep matters
🄦 Nutrition and brain health
ā¤ļø Emotional regulation and the nervous system
…and so much more.

My hope is that these posts help you understand your child a little better and remind you that it's often the small, everyday moments that have the greatest impact.

I'd love to hear from you…

What has surprised you most about your child's development?
