We all get the usual lists of what to pack in your hospital bag. Usually items like maternity pads, disposable underwear, pajamas, toiletries. Nobody tells you about the nitty-gritty essentials.
Bleeding can be very heavy after a c-section, but many people have a light flow. Regardless of the flow, lying down for long periods and having to change position constantly means one pad doesn't cover it all. You also need to make sure that the wound is not strangled by tight elastics. This makes Nappies a much more effective and comfortable solution.
Constipation is usually exacerbated by the pain meds😥
Air sometimes gets trapped inside while they are operating. This causes excruciating pain along the diaphragm which refers up into the shoulder or neck. Peppermint helps gas absorb and pass naturally.
The portable bidet makes things much easier when you are limited in how you can move without pulling your already painful C-section wound.
What would you add to the list?
