We all get the usual lists of what to pack in your hospital bag. Usually items like maternity pads, disposable underwear, pajamas, toiletries. Nobody tells you about the nitty-gritty essentials.
Bleeding can be very heavy after a c-section, but many people have a light flow. Regardless of the flow, lying down for long periods and having to change position constantly means one pad doesn't cover it all. You also need to make sure that the wound is not strangled by tight elastics. This makes Nappies a much more effective and comfortable solution.
Constipation is usually exacerbated by the pain meds😥
Air sometimes gets trapped inside while they are operating. This causes excruciating pain along the diaphragm which refers up into the shoulder or neck. Peppermint helps gas absorb and pass naturally.
The portable bidet makes things much easier when you are limited in how you can move without pulling your already painful C-section wound.
What would you add to the list?

Understanding the process makes it much easier to to rationalize what is happening while breastfeeding.
There is no judgment for those who opt to mixed feed, but for those who prefer exclusive breastfeeding, it is possible after a c-section delivery

"I only have colostrum" is one of the most common excuses I hear for supplementary feeding with formula after a c-section.
If you want to do mixed feeding then that is great and works for you.
If exclusive breastfeeding is your goal then it is best to start it from the get go.
Colostrum is calorie dense (so they can get full on colostrum) and full of antibodies and helps baby p**p out the fluid that has been swallowed in the uterus.
So why wouldn't you want to give baby as much of this goodness as possible?

Recovery from a c-section would be much easier if that was all we had to do.
Having to look after a newborn and a partner at work all day and for many still having a toddler, often leaves little time to focus on recovery.
lifting up your newborn baby will be about the limit of weight that you are allowed to carry.
moving the wrong way often puts more strain on the muscles.

walking should happen every few hours, but position change should happen even more often especially when sitting.

Each Gynae had their own wound care protocols and you should stick to those guidelines

c-section awareness month!
Let's get the truth out about a c-section.
Ultimately remember that we are all entitled to make our own informed decisions about our bodies. Giving Birth is still delivering a baby regardless of the method of delivery.

c-section awareness week!!
We need to stop the stigma of woman having a cesarean section delivery being inferior to those who have Vaginal delivery.
Having children is a beautiful experience and that is it!

Tension in the pelvic floor is one of the biggest causes of pelvic issues. Stress is a big factor in causing pelvic floor muscle tension and dysfunction. Painful Secs, leaking urine and constipation are usually worse in times of stress and mostly caused by tension rather than a weak pelvic floor.
