🌸 Happy Women’s Day from the Uluru Wellness Team 🌸

Today we celebrate women — in all our beautiful culturally diverse South Africa.

Our Uluru Wellness team is an all-woman team, and in so many ways, we reflect the beautiful Rainbow Nation we call home.

Different generations.
Different backgrounds.
Different cultures.
Different languages — Afrikaans, English, isiZulu, Tshwane and more.

Different stories, experiences and perspectives.

Yet here we are — working together, learning from one another, supporting one another and caring for our community.

We are incredibly proud to represent the strength, warmth, resilience and diversity of South African women, and especially the young women who are finding their voices, building their careers and creating lives they should be proud of.

Because our differences don't divide us. They enrich us 🌈

To every woman who walks through our doors, works beside us, raises a family, builds a business, cares for others, follows her dreams or simply keeps putting one foot in front of the other…

We see you. We celebrate you. We honour you.

You matter.

And there is a place for you at the table. And on our massage table 😉

Happy Women’s Day from all of us at Uluru Wellness.

🌸 Working together. Caring together. Helping you move, feel and live better.

Better Together 🤝🌿

No single healthcare professional has all the answers—and that's the beauty of collaborative care.

At Uluru Wellness Centre, we believe the best outcomes happen when healthcare professionals work together. Therapeutic Massage Therapists, Biokineticists, Dietitians, Chiropractors, Reflexologists and other trusted practitioners each bring a unique perspective to your health journey.

Because every part of your wellbeing matters.

When we communicate, collaborate and support one another, we're able to see the whole person—not just the symptoms.

As the saying goes:

Together Everyone Achieves More.

Your health deserves more than one perspective. It deserves a team committed to helping you move better, feel better and live better.

Meet Lindiwe – the heart of our welcome. 🤍

Every practice has someone who sets the tone. At Uluru Wellness Centre, that's Lindiwe.

She'll be the first smile you see when you walk through our doors, and from that moment, her warmth and kindness help you feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home.

Whether she's greeting you by name, helping you settle in before your appointment, or simply sharing a friendly conversation, Lindiwe has a special gift for making every person feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

She plays an important role in creating the calm, supportive environment that Uluru Wellness Centre and World of wellness is known for—because healing doesn't start on the treatment table. It begins the moment you feel safe, welcomed, and cared for.

✨ The first smile you see. The warmth you'll remember.

What is Myofascial Negative Pressure Technique?

Despite the name, Myofascial Negative Pressure Technique isn't about creating pain or dramatic marks.

This gentle myofascial technique uses controlled negative pressure to lift and decompress the superficial tissues rather than compress them. This creates space between layers of fascia, skin and muscle, encouraging movement where tissues have become restricted.

For some people, myofascial cupping can be particularly helpful when traditional hands-on pressure feels too uncomfortable or when deeper restrictions are difficult to access with compression alone.

It may be used to help:
• Improve fascial mobility
• Reduce muscle tension
• Encourage healthy tissue glide
• Support movement and recovery
• Complement treatment for persistent musculoskeletal pain

At Uluru, Myofascial Negative Pressure Technique is never a treatment on its own. It is one of many therapeutic techniques we may integrate into a personalised assessment and treatment plan when clinically appropriate.

It is important to note that this approach differs from traditional cupping practices. Our focus is on restoring movement within the fascial system using gentle, controlled negative pressure as part of evidence-informed therapeutic massage.

Because sometimes, the gentlest approach is exactly what the body needs.

Therapeutic massage isn't about escaping your body. It's about reconnecting with it.

Sometimes that means helping someone recover from an injury.

Sometimes it means supporting a chronic health condition.

Sometimes it simply means creating enough space for your nervous system to exhale.

At Uluru Wellness, every treatment begins with an assessment and is tailored to the person in front of us.

Because no two bodies—and no two stories—are the same.

Today, we're thinking of the person who wakes with headaches, tight shoulders, and a body carrying more than it should.

Therapeutic massage may help reduce muscular tension, improve movement, and support your body's natural healing processes—helping you feel more like yourself again.

✨ Because therapeutic massage isn't just for one kind of person.

It's for people living life in real bodies.

💳 Why Medical Aids Cover Therapeutic Massage

Medical aids don’t reimburse treatments because they’re relaxing — they reimburse care that supports health outcomes, prevention, and recovery.

Therapeutic massage is often covered because it:

• Is provided by AHPCSA-registered allied health professionals
• Supports injury recovery and musculoskeletal health
• Helps manage pain and functional limitation
• Can reduce reliance on more invasive or costly interventions
• Forms part of multidisciplinary care plans

Coverage depends on your plan — but recognition matters.

It reflects the role therapeutic massage plays in modern, integrated healthcare.

🧠 You can have Therapeutic Massage if you have Parkinson's disease.

Surprised?

Many people assume that massage is only for relaxation or for healthy people with sore muscles. In reality, registered Therapeutic Massage Therapists are trained to adapt treatment for a wide range of health conditions—including Parkinson's disease.

Depending on your individual needs and stage of the condition, Therapeutic Massage may help to:
✔ Reduce muscle rigidity and tension
✔ Improve comfort and ease of movement
✔ Support mobility and flexibility
✔ Promote relaxation and reduce stress
✔ Enhance overall quality of life

Every treatment is tailored to the individual and should form part of a multidisciplinary approach to care. Therapeutic Massage does not treat Parkinson's disease itself, but it can play a valuable role in managing symptoms and supporting wellbeing.

This is why choosing an AHPCSA-registered Therapeutic Massage Therapist matters. Our training equips us to assess, adapt, and treat safely within our professional scope of practice.

Because Therapeutic Massage is healthcare.
