Cde Ntandokazi Capa, ANC RET Coordinator, alongside ANC Chief Whip Cde Gcaba, is currently receiving a petition from leaders of the Uncedo Taxi Association in Qumbu.

The taxi association is handing over the petition to raise grievances relating to the Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality, as part of an engagement aimed at ensuring that their concerns are formally heard and addressed.

Today, we mark 70 years since the historic Women’s March of 1956 and honour the courageous women whose actions helped shape the South Africa we live in today.

As Eastern Cape Health MEC, I salute the women who are the backbone of our healthcare system and those who continue to lead, care and serve in communities across our province.

May we continue building a society where every woman and girl is safe, healthy and empowered.

Wathint’ Abafazi, Wathint’ Imbokodo!

I joined Nondumiso “Nomam’ K” Mhlongo on Umhlobo Wenene FM as part of the uNgenani Emasangweni neNdumiso noma’m K Women’s Month programme to discuss how the Eastern Cape Department of Health is improving the lives of women through quality healthcare.

Our discussion covered maternal and women’s health, cervical cancer and HPV prevention, Youth Zones, Lenacapavir for HIV prevention, the province’s first public IVF facility, and Health Sciences bursaries.

Today, I had the privilege of addressing volunteers at the launch of the ANCWL O.R. Tambo Volunteers Programme at Flagstaff Town Hall.

I called on our volunteers to work closely with our communities, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and remain committed to serving our people with dedication.

I also reminded everyone of the importance of the IEC voter registration weekend on 1–2 August 2026, encouraging all eligible South Africans to ensure they are registered to vote and to play their part in shaping our country’s future.

Let’s honour Madiba’s legacy by caring for our communities.
Join us for Mandela Rehabilitation Week, taking place from 13–17 July 2026 across various health facilities in the Kumkani Mhlontlo Local Municipality as we commemorate Nelson Mandela Week.

Community members are encouraged to access free rehabilitation services, receive valuable health information, and engage with our dedicated healthcare professionals.

If you are a person living with a disability, a caregiver, a senior citizen, or someone who may benefit from rehabilitation services, we encourage you to attend the session at the health facility closest to you on the scheduled date.

Together, we can honour Madiba’s legacy by promoting health, dignity, inclusion, and equitable access to quality healthcare for all.
