A head injury is trauma to the scalp, head or brain.
Head injuries can be serious and potentially life-threatening, especially if not properly diagnosed and treated.

Visit our emergency unit immediately if you or a loved one observes any of these symptoms:
 Sudden, severe change in mood or agitation
 Confusion or disorientation
 Difficulty speaking or walking
 Weakness or numbness in any part of the body
 Loss of consciousness or altered mental state

The severity of the head injury may vary from a minor injury with no loss of consciousness, to an extensive head injury leading to loss of consciousness or coma.
