Bayswater Village Bloemfontein Bayswater Village Retirement Home Bayswater Village is located in the suburb of Bayswater, Bloemfontein. Fund raising is done in order to obtain extra funds.

Part of the home, as we see it today, was built in 1985 when the first residents moved in during November 1985. Later, additions were made and twelve units inclusive of one, two and three bedroom cottages were built in 1995. The home is privately run and is not dependent on funds from the Government. Our Annual Sunshine Fair and Spring Tea are part of our fund-raising efforts. Bayswater Village offers a variety of types of accommodation, depending on the level of care required. This is to ensure that we do not accommodate someone who requires care in a unit for independent residents. The needs and expectations of our residents always come first. The well-being and satisfaction of each person we serve is of the utmost importance to us. We place great emphasis on healthy, homely food, and are committed to creating the dining experiences residents want. Our chefs are trained, our hospitality staff are friendly and helpful, and we try to ensure that all meals are balanced and tailored according to medications and individual patient needs. Our village is secured with electric fencing and security cameras with 24-hour access control with a security guard doing hourly patrols at night. Each resident receives a panic button in case of emergency, linked to the sisters’ office, with a registered sister on duty 24 hours per day. Regular visits to the nurse are available to ensure that everyone stays healthy and cared for. Room visits and assistance to get dress are top priorities. At The Village, the support you need is on hand to help you stay independent and healthy as your needs change. At Bayswater Village we have various special events where the residents are entertained and spoilt. Activities help provide a routine to help reduce anxiety or stress. Programs focus on all aspects of our residents’ health and wellness – creative, community, motivation, physical, social and spiritual. Birthday parties, various functions and events, the bi-monthly get-together and games provide great fun and entertainment for all. Exercise is essential and the residents have great fun in keeping fit. On a more serious note, Devotions, Bible Study and Church Services provide the necessary inspiration so vital to us all. We are like one big family that gets together, caring and looking out for one-another.

We had a fantastic chocolate morning, the residents made their own hot chocolate with lots of gorgeous toppings and was treated to a wonderful chocolate cup cake with cream and oreo. It was so nice to sit together in the sun room and enjoy each other's company.
