A shout-out to Chris and Shené
They handle many of our first calls and house transfers, and we’re grateful for the care they show every family.
Why do we send two people for a home transfer?
We’re often asked why two team members respond when someone passes away at home.
The answer is simple: safety and respect.
Before arriving, our team gathers key details — the loved one’s approximate weight, their location in the home, whether stairs are involved, and any other factors that could affect the transfer. Every situation is unique, and this information helps us bring the right equipment and prepare for a safe, dignified process.
Having two team members protects everyone involved. Transfers can be physically demanding, especially in tight hallways, up staircases, or in other challenging spaces. Working together reduces the risk of injury and ensures your loved one is moved with the utmost care and respect.
Most importantly, no two homes are the same. We never know exactly what we’ll encounter until we arrive. By sending two or more team members, we’re prepared for the unexpected and can handle every transfer professionally, safely, and with dignity.
This is just one of the many behind-the-scenes details families may never see. We’re proud of the compassion and professionalism Chris and Shené bring as they care for those entrusted to us and support families through their most difficult moments. ❤️
