The whole of Tumo Primary gathered in the school hall. Today was not a normal lesson. The *Madibeng Centre for Research* had come with *members of the SAPS* to talk about GBV – Gender-Based Violence.
“GBV means hurting, bullying, or forcing someone because they are a boy or a girl. It can start small… like teasing, pushing, or posting mean messages. But it can grow into something very serious.”
Sergeant then spoke very clearly:
*“If you commit GBV, there are real consequences. You can be arrested. You can go to court. In serious cases, you can go to prison. And once you have a criminal record, it becomes very hard to get a good job, to study further, or to build the future you want.”*
