A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited the Adonai House stall from Friday to Sunday, browsed our items, made a purchase and showed us support throughout the weekend. Every purchase, conversation and contribution means so much to us and the families we walk alongside.

A special thank you to the event organisers for welcoming us so warmly and generously accommodating us with such a large stall space. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be part of this festival and connect with our community.

💜 17 YEARS OF HANNAH. 17 YEARS OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS.

Today, my beautiful Hannah turns 17. Looking back on these years, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness through every challenge, every answered prayer and every moment of joy.

Being Hannah’s mom has taught me about unconditional love, patience, resilience and finding joy in the smallest things. Our journey has looked different from what we once imagined, but I would never trade Hannah for anything. Being her mother is one of the greatest honours of my life.

Because of Hannah, Adonai House exists. Her story has become a purpose far greater than our own family, allowing us to walk alongside other families caring for children and young adults with significant disabilities, reminding them that they are seen, supported and never alone.

Hannah, you are so much more than your diagnosis. Your life is precious, your impact is immeasurable, and you have changed my heart in ways words could never fully express.

As we look to the years ahead, we may not know what they hold, but we know the One who holds them.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3

These care packs and food vouchers may look like simple items, but behind each one is a family who is caring for a child or young adult with profound disabilities — often while navigating financial pressure, exhaustion and a journey that can feel incredibly lonely.

Every thrifted treasure, household item, book or bargain you purchase helps generate income for Adonai House — and that income helps us provide practical support where it is needed most.

Today, we’re shining a light on two special members of our Adonai House community, Daniel and Caitlin. 💜

Cerebral palsy is experienced differently by every individual, and behind every diagnosis is a person with their own personality, experiences, interests and story.

Today gives us an opportunity to learn more, challenge misconceptions and look beyond a diagnosis to the people who live with it.

We are grateful to walk alongside Daniel, Caitlin and their families, and to be part of their journeys.

Let’s continue learning, listening and creating greater understanding around cerebral palsy — not just today, but every day.

♿ When a community comes together, lives can change.

Today, we want to share a very special story of teamwork, generosity and community. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Gemini Gym, who collected hundreds of bottle caps as part of an initiative to help make a wheelchair possible for a child in our care.

Those bottle caps were then handed over to DSV, who turned that collection into something truly meaningful — providing a wheelchair for a child who needed it.

And today, we had the privilege of seeing that wheelchair reach the child and their family. ❤️

What makes this so special is that this wheelchair didn't come from one person or one organisation alone.

It came from many hands.

From the people who saved their bottle caps.
From the team at Gemini Gym who collected them.
From DSV, who turned those collected bottle caps into a wheelchair.
And from everyone who played a part in making this moment possible.

For one child, this means greater mobility, comfort and independence. For their family, it means practical support and one less challenge to carry alone.

This is what community can look like.

One bottle cap might not seem like much on its own. But hundreds of them, collected with purpose and transformed through generosity, can become something that makes a very real difference in a child's life.

Thank you, Gemini Gym and DSV, for standing together with us and helping us ensure that this child has the opportunity to move through their world with greater freedom and dignity. ❤️

And thank you to every person who contributed a bottle cap along the way. You were part of this too.

Come and enjoy a fantastic weekend filled with jumping castles, performances by our Culture Department throughout the festival, a wonderful variety of vendors, and 14 different food trucks to choose from!

🎶 CHOIR & ORCHESTRA CONCERT 🎶

Join us on Sunday at 16:00 for a special Choir & Orchestra Concert.
🎟️ Tickets are R50 per person and will be sold at the gate.

Festival entrance is R20 per person. If you are attending the Choir & Orchestra Concert on Sunday, you only pay the R50 concert ticket — there is no additional R20 festival entrance fee.

Bring your family and friends and come enjoy a wonderful weekend at Edgemead High School! Our full entertainment programme will be available on our social media pages from Thursday.

We have been incredibly blessed by the kindness and generosity of people who continue to think of Adonai House and the families we support.

Over the past little while, donations have come in from individuals, families and businesses — each one helping us provide practical support to families caring for children and young adults with profound disabilities.

Whether it was food, toiletries, clothing, household items, blankets, sensory items or other useful goods, every donation has value and every contribution has a purpose.

We don't take any of it for granted. ❤️

Behind every donation is someone who chose to stop and say, “I want to help.”

And for the families we support, that kindness can mean the difference between facing another difficult day feeling completely alone and knowing that someone sees them, cares about them and is willing to stand alongside them.
