Blood Sugar Problems: early intervention matters!

Prediabetes and insulin resistance often develop gradually and may go unnoticed until more significant health issues arise.

Early, personalised intervention can play an important role in supporting metabolic health, preventing progression and optimising blood sugar control.

I have a special interest in metabolic health and work with patients to address underlying contributors to blood sugar imbalance.

Rosemary's perfectly-formed flowers are landing strips and feeding stations for pollinators. They really attract certain humans too... Rosemary has been called 'the most warming of all the mints', it is a stimulating brain, circulation and digestion medicine from the Lamiaceae family. Easy to grow and packed full of essential oil and resins which give it antimicrobial properties, great for students who need help concentrating and really supportive for the circulatory system of older (colder) people.

It may not look like much, but it's the makings of the most effective sore throat medicine I know ... a vinegar maceration of Salvia aurea - indigenous brown Sage - mixed with raw fynbos honey. After infusing the sage in vinegar, it is filtered and mixed with the honey, left to settle and strained again. It is an old style herbal medicine called an oxymel and can be taken neat in spoonfuls and almost instantly soothes sore throats, while helping to kill off any microorganisms that may be contributing to the problem
