Supplement Protocol
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
- Dose: 50 mg daily
- Can be taken as part of a B-complex
- Max long-term dose: 100 mg/day
- Supports nerve regulation and reduces vascular hypersensitivity
Magnesium (Glycinate or Citrate)
- Dose: 300–400 mg daily (elemental magnesium)
- Can increase to 600 mg/day if needed
- Split into 1–2 doses if sensitive
- Relaxes blood vessels and reduces vasoconstriction
*May cause loose stools (reduce dose if this occurs)
Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)
- Dose: 1,000–2,000 mg daily
- Ensure it contains GLA (gamma-linolenic acid)
- Supports healthy blood flow and reduces vascular reactivity
*Use cautiously if:
- On blood thinners
- History of seizure disorders
Duration of supplementation
- Trial for 2–4 weeks
- Reassess symptoms and reduce gradually if improved
- If no improvement consult your doctor or lactation consultant again
