Who are we?

I think a big part of who I am today comes from the little girl I used to be.

I was never the popular one at school. I often felt like the odd one out. Like I didn’t quite fit in, and I never really felt like I belonged anywhere.

Maybe that’s why creating a space where people do belong has become so important to me.

At Burn It Up, you don’t have to be an athlete.
You don’t have to be fit.
You don’t have to love training.
You can literally be the person who absolutely hates exercise but knows you need to do something for your health. 😂

You can be strong. You can be unfit. You can be nervous. You can be starting over.

There are no clicks. No judgement. No “cool kids” table. We don't do silly stuff for the socials.

Just people.

And one of my favourite things to see is when someone decides to try something they never thought they could do.

Like entering an event.

Watching people push themselves, laugh, struggle, encourage each other and eventually realise “Holy sh*t… I actually did that.”

That moment gets me every time.

And as the owner and coach, I’m not standing on podiums. I’m not the fastest. I’m certainly not perfect. 😂

But I will always put myself out there and enter these events too. Because for me, it’s never really been about winning. It’s about being part of something.

Being surrounded by people who are willing to try.

People who encourage each other. People who celebrate each other’s wins, no matter how big or small.

Maybe the little girl who never felt like she belonged was actually building something without even knowing it.

A place where everyone gets to belong. 🖤

This is who we are. This is Burn It Up Fitness & Nutrition ... And I’m so bloody proud of it.

As we age, our bodies naturally lose muscle—a process called sarcopenia. After menopause, declining estrogen can accelerate muscle loss, reduce bone density, and slow metabolism.

That’s why eating too little isn’t the answer.

Instead, focus on the habits that support a strong, healthy body:

✔️ Lift weights 2–3 times per week
✔️ Eat enough protein to support muscle repair and growth
✔️ Fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods instead of chronic dieting
✔️ Stay active with regular walking and daily movement

Research consistently shows that strength training improves muscle mass, bone health, insulin sensitivity, balance, and physical function—helping women stay independent and active as they age.

Stop chasing a smaller body. Start building a stronger one. Your future self will thank you. 💛

While many of our members are enjoying a well-deserved holiday, we've had a dedicated group of Winter Warriors showing up every week, ready to take on some new class formats.

Thank you for trusting the process, matching my crazy ideas, and never shying away from the hard things.

Nothing grows in comfort zones 👌

Your children are always watching.

Are you leading by example when it comes to health and fitness, or simply expecting them to value something they don't see you prioritise?

The habits they build tomorrow start with the example you set today.
