It heavily affects women in their reproductive years between the ages of 15 and 44. However, early screening and regular screening can prevent the disease.

What is bone marrow ❓
Located deep inside your bones, bone marrow is a soft, spongy tissue that acts as your body’s cell factory. It creates stem cells that develop into three key components: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

What is leukemia❓
In leukemia, bone marrow produces faulty white blood cells that multiply out of control. These abnormal cells crowd out healthy blood cells, leaving the immune system vulnerable and unable to protect the body.

The role that bone marrow stem cells play in leukeamia patients lives: A stem cell or bone marrow transplant replaces damaged or cancerous cells with healthy ones, which offers patients their best chance at recovery 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦.

September 1st-5th is National Kidney Awareness Week 📅.
