Just a tiny glimpse into the process of tasting and testing an extraordinary number of food product entries for the Food & Home Magazine 2026.
Being selected as one of this year’s judges has been both a privilege and an honour.
To say it was a big undertaking would be an understatement. The sheer volume of products took over our home, with the fridge and freezer bursting at the seams. The sight alone would have been enough to make anyone faint from overwhelm 🤣. There were definitely moments when the old saying, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time…” came to mind. It turns out that’s exactly how you get through a judging process like this.
As a first-time F&H Awards judge, balancing work, deliveries, and countless tasting and testing sessions was a challenge in itself. Soon enough, I found a system that worked, together with the help of Johann, friends, and family who have all been such troopers. Thanks for letting me feed you!
I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this prestigious awards process. It’s been inspiring to see the passion, innovation, and hard work behind so many products, from well-established favourites to exciting new discoveries.
