We took a 600km round trip flight to Polokwane for a special rescue mission.
Valterra Platinum Mine had two Barn Owls living in their warehouse who had successfully dodged every capture attempt for the last three months.
We were happy to step in, catch them safely, and get them sorted for relocation.
​We’re hoping this post might find its way to someone in top management at Valterra. When companies call us out, it’s almost always the Environmental Manager who makes contact. We always explain that our rescue work is 100% free, but donations are what keep us mobile and responding to calls like this every day.
​Unfortunately, Environmental Managers rarely have the authority to sign off on financial contributions—so we’re crossing our fingers that the right person sees this post. (Hey, it’s worked before! 😉)

Closing World Elephant Day on a note of gratitude — for the incredible creatures under our stewardship, the wild landscapes they call home, and the people who make conservation their life’s work.

In the wild, raising an elephant is a collective endeavour. The same could be said for us. We are the result of many hands and hearts, working in the field and behind the scenes, to protect Kenya’s wildlife and wild spaces.
