When you no longer feel like yourself

“I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”

It’s something I hear often from people moving through change.

Perhaps you’ve returned to work, left a relationship, changed careers or simply realised that the life you built no longer fits who you are becoming.

You haven’t lost yourself. You may simply be meeting a new version of yourself.

The in-between

There is a particular kind of discomfort that comes when your old life no longer fits, but your next chapter is not yet clear.

You know something needs to change. You may even have left the job, relationship, role or routine behind.

But you don’t yet know who you are without it.

This is the in-between.

It can feel confusing and unproductive, but it is not an empty space. It is where you begin separating who you are from who you have needed to be.

You are not lost. You are in transition.

You may arrive at coaching because you feel stuck in your career.

But beneath the uncertainty, there is often a deeper question:

Who am I becoming, and what do I want the next chapter of my life to look like?

Career may be the doorway. Transitions are the context. Self-trust is the heartbeat.

If you’re ready for a grounded space to explore what comes next, book a one-on-one session with me.

Growth doesn’t always feel like progress. Sometimes it feels uncertain, uncomfortable and unclear.

Not knowing what comes next can be one of the hardest parts of a transition.

We naturally want answers, plans and certainty. But sometimes what we need first is to learn how to feel steady while things are still unfolding.

My Finding Calm in a Tired and Uncertain World webinar offers practical support for doing exactly that.

Transitions can be unsettling, even when the change is something we’ve chosen.

A new career, the end of a relationship, returning to work, becoming a parent or simply realising that the life you built no longer feels quite right.

Through my coaching work, I’ve supported many people through these in-between seasons.

Often, the challenge isn’t just deciding what comes next. It’s learning to trust who you’re becoming along the way.

We spend so much of our lives building an identity around who we think we should be.

The successful one. The dependable one. The ambitious one. The person who always has everything together.

But what happens when that identity no longer feels like you?

Perhaps the question isn’t “Who should I become next?”

Perhaps it’s simply:

“Who am I now?”

And does the life I’m living reflect that person?

You’re allowed to outgrow the version of you that once made sense.

The career you thought you wanted. The goals you worked towards. The role you’ve always played. Even the version of success you once imagined for yourself.

Changing doesn’t mean that person was wrong.

It simply means you’ve lived, learned and changed along the way.

Sometimes growth is less about becoming someone new and more about giving yourself permission to acknowledge who you are now.

You are allowed to become someone new.

Life transitions have a way of making us question more than what comes next. They can make us question who we are, what we want and whether the life we’ve built still feels like ours.

This month’s newsletter explores identity, change and learning to trust yourself through the seasons when things feel a little less certain.

A reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out - and you don’t need permission to evolve.

Subscribe to read this month’s letter, You Are Allowed to Become Someone New, and receive future letters straight to your inbox.

Self-trust doesn’t mean always feeling certain. It means listening to yourself, treating your feelings with compassion and refusing to abandon who you are simply because the way forward feels unclear.

You can feel unsure and still trust yourself to take the next step.
