Many people spend years trying to understand their pain.

Often the question becomes:

"What's wrong with me?"

Sometimes a more helpful question is:

"What is my pain trying to tell me?"

At Fx Health, we recognise that pain is real, and that understanding it often requires curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to look beyond symptoms alone.

Inspired by concepts from the PEEP (Pain Empowerment Experiential Programme) Workbook.

We love hearing feedback like this because it reflects something that matters deeply to us.

Effective treatment is important.

But so is feeling cared for.

From reception, to assessment, to physiotherapy sessions, our aim is to create an experience where people feel supported, listened to, and empowered to take an active role in their recovery.

Thank you, Nomfundo, for sharing your journey with us.

And thank you for recommending us to others. There is no greater compliment. ๐Ÿ’™

โ€ผ๏ธ A reminder for our Bonitas patients:

Since the 1st of June 2026, Bonitas has transitioning to a new administrative system under Momentum.

As a result, some claims may have been rejected or delayed as systems are still being updated.

We understand how frustrating this can feel.

While this process is outside of our control, please know that we are here to support you โ€” whether thatโ€™s helping you understand a claim, following up, or guiding you on next steps.

If you experience any issues, we encourage you to reach out to our team. Weโ€™ll do our best to assist and navigate this with you.

Meet Lara ๐Ÿซ

Lara works across both our Cape Town and Northern Suburbs branches, bringing a calm, thoughtful presence to every patient interaction.

What patients often notice first is the way she communicates: kind, clear, and deeply attentive, while still gently encouraging people beyond what they thought was possible.

She has a grounded confidence that helps people feel safe, supported, and capable in their rehabilitation journey.

Within the team, Lara also brings strong leadership qualities to the physio space through her professionalism, consistency, and care for both patients and colleagues alike.

Weโ€™re grateful to have her as part of the Fx Health family. ๐ŸŒฑ

Neck pain has become one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints in modern life.

Long hours at desks.
Stress.
Driving.
Reduced movement.
Busy schedules.

For many people, neck pain slowly becomes something they learn to live around.

But living with pain isn't the same as understanding it.

Research consistently shows that exercise-based rehabilitation can play an important role in reducing chronic neck pain and improving function.

At Fx Health, our DBC neck programme focuses on more than symptom relief.

We help patients gradually improve mobility, restore strength, rebuild movement confidence, and better understand how pain and the nervous system interact.

Because the goal isn't simply to move your neck.

It's to help you return to the activities that matter to you. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you, Arthur.

One of the most important parts of rehabilitation happens outside the clinic.

While hands-on treatment and supervised sessions play an important role, lasting change often comes from the small things repeated consistently at home.

That's why every programme includes guidance, education, and exercises tailored to your specific needs.

Because recovery isn't something that only happens during appointments.

It's something that gradually becomes part of daily life. ๐Ÿ’™

Many people living with chronic neck or back pain spend years searching for a single explanation.

A scan result.
A diagnosis.
A specific disc, joint, or muscle.

But chronic pain is rarely that simple.

Research has shown that structural changes seen on scans are often found in people with no pain at all. At the same time, some people experience significant pain despite few obvious findings on imaging.

That's because persistent pain is often influenced by a combination of physical, psychological, and social factors.

This understanding forms the foundation of the DBC approach.

That's why DBC doesn't simply ask, "What's wrong with your spine?"

It asks, "What's preventing you from moving and living the way you'd like to?"

The goal is not only pain reduction. It's helping people restore function, confidence, and quality of life.

Here's a look at some of the key principles behind DBC. ๐Ÿ’™

As Joyce begins an exciting new chapter to further her studies, we'd like to take a moment to thank her for everything she has brought to the Fx Health team. ๐Ÿ’™

Whether welcoming patients with her warm smile at our CBD branch or supporting the team behind the scenes at our Durbanville branch, Joyce was always ready to help wherever she was needed. Her kindness, reliability, and genuine care made a lasting impression on both our patients and colleagues.

Joyce, thank you for the dedication, positivity, and heart you've shared with us over the years. While we'll certainly miss having you as part of the team, we're excited to see where this next step in your journey takes you.

Wishing you every success in your studies and all the very best for the future. Once part of the Fx Health family, always part of the Fx Health family. ๐ŸŒฟ

There is something both challenging and liberating about this idea.

Many people arrive hoping someone will simply tell them the one thing that will fix everything.

But chronic pain rarely works that way.

Recovery is often a process of learning.
Learning what helps.
Learning what doesn't.
Learning how your body responds.
Learning what builds resilience and confidence over time.

At Fx Health, our role is not to hand you a single answer.

It's to help you explore, experiment, and discover what works for your body and your life.

Because lasting change is rarely found in a quick fix.

It's found through understanding, consistency, and active participation in your own recovery. ๐Ÿ’™

Many of us were taught to think about the body in extremes:
young or old, fit or unfit, healthy or unhealthy.

But real bodies are more complex than that.

At Fx Health, we work with retirees becoming stronger again, office workers developing chronic pain in their thirties, and patients rediscovering movement after years of fear and discomfort.

The body changes across life.
Thatโ€™s normal.

But decline is not the only story available to us.

The nervous system remains adaptable.
Strength can improve.
Confidence can return.
Movement can become safer and more possible again.
