Meet your nephrologist: Dr Boitumelo Mashigo

At Icon Renal Care on the East Rand, our patients are cared for by specialists who know kidney health inside and out, and Dr Boitumelo Mashigo is exactly that.

A Specialist Physician and Nephrologist, Dr Mashigo trained at the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University before completing her nephrology training at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. She has a special interest in glomerular disease, acute kidney injury and kidney transplantation, and extensive experience helping patients through haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

What matters most to her? Walking alongside her patients, explaining every step, and making sure they feel heard and supported in their care.
