Your gut is part of your training.
If you want to fuel at 60, 80 or 90g+ of carbs per hour, you need to train your gut to handle it.
You wouldn’t suddenly double your running volume before race day. Fueling works the same way.
Start with what you can tolerate.
Build gradually.
Practice at race intensity.
Use the same products and strategy you plan to race with.
And remember, it’s not just about how much carbohydrate you take in.
The type, ratio and amount all matter.
Your fueling strategy should be trained just like your legs.
Next up: when to reach for gels, drinks, bars and other fuel sources.
