š± Youth Month: Investing in Today's Youth for Tomorrow's Future
Youth is a time of growth, identity development, learning, and building the foundations for adulthood. The experiences, relationships, and opportunities young people encounter during these years can have a lasting impact on their emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing.
š Mental health matters. Young people who feel supported, valued, and emotionally safe are better equipped to manage challenges, develop resilience, and build confidence.
ā½ Sport matters. Physical activity promotes not only physical health but also teamwork, discipline, leadership, self-esteem, and positive coping skills.
š¤ Positive relationships matter. Supportive connections with parents, caregivers, peers, teachers, and mentors provide young people with a sense of belonging, safety, and security.
Unfortunately, many young people are exposed to trauma, adversity, abuse, bullying, or family conflict. Trauma can impact emotional wellbeing, relationships, learning, and development. However, healing is possible when young people have access to safe relationships, supportive adults, opportunities for positive experiences, and professional support when needed.
This Youth Month, let us commit to creating environments where young people feel:
⨠Seen
⨠Heard
⨠Supported
⨠Empowered
Because healthy youth become healthy adults, and healthy adults build stronger communities.
Healthy minds. Strong bodies. Positive connections. Empowered youth. Thriving communities.
