Seeing CIN1, CIN2, or CIN3 on your biopsy or colposcopy results can be confusing, but these terms do not mean you have cervical cancer. They describe the degree of abnormal changes in the cells of your cervix: CIN1 – Mild cell changes that often resolve on their own. CIN2 – Moderate cell changes that usually require closer monitoring or treatment. CIN3 – Severe cell changes that are not cancer, but have a higher risk of developing into cervical cancer if left untreated. LLETZ

One of the biggest concerns women have before undergoing a LLETZ (Large Loop Excision of the Transformation Zone) procedure is whether it will affect their ability to have children. For most women, LLETZ does not affect fertility and many go on to have healthy pregnancies. 'sHealth

Receiving a referral for a colposcopy can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't automatically mean you have cervical cancer. A colposcopy is a detailed examination of the cervix that allows your OBGYN to take a closer look at any abnormal cells detected during a Pap smear or HPV test. 'sHealth

Abnormal Pap smear results don't always mean cancer, but they should never be ignored. A LLETZ procedure can treat abnormal cervical cells early, helping prevent cervical cancer before it develops.

Hearing that you need an LLETZ procedure can feel overwhelming, but it is an important step in preventing cervical cancer. LLETZ removes abnormal cells from the cervix before they have the chance to become cancerous. The procedure is quick, safe and is usually performed under local anaesthetic with a short recovery time.

Most women recover well within a few weeks, but it is normal to experience light bleeding or discharge during this time. To reduce the risk of infection, avoid tampons, swimming and sexual in*******se until your doctor advises it's safe. If you experience heavy bleeding, severe pain or a fever, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Your follow-up appointment is just as important as the procedure itself, helping ensure your cervix is healing well. 'sHealth
