Practical Guidelines In taking up the Systems Psychodynamic Organisational Consulting and Coaching Role

This workshop focuses on the professional knowledge and practice of systems-psychodynamic organisational consulting and coaching. Concepts such as working with the self as instrument, negative capability, the conscious and unconscious systems (organisation / leadership) in the mind will be explored. The procedure of starting with the psychological preparation, practical arrangements, performing, closing and assessing the work, will be addressed.

Lastly, the focus will be on systems-psychodynamic approaches to supervision where participants have space to think about their own selves as psychological instruments in understanding their work better and deeper.

The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA) notes with deep concern the spate of femicide cases in South Africa. Gender-based violence and femicide are serious abuses of basic human rights, equality, safety, and human dignity.

No one has the right to dominate, threaten, degrade, sexually assault, exploit, or murder another person.

To our extended SIOPSA family who may be experiencing trauma or shock as the news unfolds, we are hosting a psychological exchange session where individuals will have a safe space to share on Thursday 17 September at 12.00.

Safety is a collective responsibility, and accountability rests with those entrusted to protect us. Report concerns to the relevant authorities, demand action, and stand together in creating an environment where everyone can feel safe.
