Dr Matthew is busting a common myth…

“Only women can get breast cancer.”

❌ MYTH!

Although breast cancer is far more common in women, men can get breast cancer too.

Men have breast tissue, which means breast cancer is possible — even though it is uncommon.

Speak to your GP if you notice:

• A new lump or swelling in the breast or chest
• Changes to the ni**le
• Ni**le discharge
• Skin changes, dimpling or puckering
• Persistent pain or any unusual changes

Breast health isn’t just a women’s issue.

If something feels different, don’t ignore it. Get it checked.

At MidMed Health, we believe that early detection can save lives! As part of our Breast Cancer awareness campaign we are offering free breast screenings on 23 October 2026.

What does the screening involve?

The screening consists of a physical examination of the breasts by one of our experienced doctors, to check for any lumps, unusual changes or other signs that may require further investigation.

Please note: This is a clinical breast examination and does not include a mammogram or ultrasound.

It’s one of the questions women often ask: “At what age should I start screening?”

The answer isn’t exactly the same for every woman. Your recommended screening may depend on:

• Your age
• Your personal health history
• Your family history of breast cancer
• Your individual risk factors, such as hormone replacement therapy
• Any symptoms or changes you may have noticed

That’s why it’s important to have a conversation about your breast health with your GP.

Don’t guess. Ask. Your GP can help you understand which screening may be appropriate for you and when.

Early conversations can lead to earlier action. đź’™

Don’t Just Wear Pink. Know Your Breasts. 💗

Dr Hilda says: Breast awareness is about more than a once-a-year examination. It’s about knowing how your breasts normally look and feel, so you can notice when something changes.

Look out for:

• A new lump or thickening
• Changes in breast size or shape
• Skin changes, dimpling or puckering
• Changes to the ni**le
• Unusual ni**le discharge
• Persistent pain or discomfort

Not every change means cancer, but every unexplained change deserves attention.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Make an appointment with your GP and get it checked. 💙
