Our days our filled with cuteness, but some days at Bowwood Baby Clinic are just extra cute!

These gorgeous twins popped in to see us last week and made themselves completely at home – exploring, playing and making very good use of everything our little visitors have to enjoy while they’re here.

We love seeing children feel so relaxed and happy in the clinic. Moments like these are a lovely reminder of what makes Bowwood such a special place for families.

In this episode of On the Couch with Cindy, Cindy Homewood chats to Shane Brassell of Physio Kids.

Shane is a paediatric physiotherapist with an MSc in Child Neuro-developmental Health and more than 13 years’ experience in paediatric development. Her work focuses on helping infants, children and adolescents experiencing movement difficulties, coordination challenges or developmental delays to reach their fullest potential.

They are currently looking for a passionate and capable part-time NGO Operations Manager to help strengthen the organisation, support fundraising, coordinate projects and volunteers, manage donor relationships and help shape its next phase of growth.

Welcome to the first episode of On the Couch with Cindy, a new long-form video series from Bowwood Baby Clinic.

In this series, Cindy Homewood sits down with the trusted professionals, specialists and organisations who work alongside Bowwood Baby Clinic to support parents, babies and young children.

In this episode, Cindy speaks to Charlene van Tonder, owner and lead facilitator of Safe Kids about the importance of Infant and Child CPR, Choking and Basic First Aid training.

Their conversation explores why these practical skills are invaluable for anyone responsible for the care of a baby, toddler or child – including parents, grandparents, nannies, au pairs, babysitters, teachers and other caregivers.

Safe Kids’ hands-on courses help participants learn how to recognise and respond to emergencies, practise CPR and choking techniques, and understand current best practice for managing common first aid situations involving infants and children.

Knowing what to do in an emergency can help caregivers respond with greater confidence when every second matters.

Safe Kids courses are regularly hosted in the welcoming lounge at Bowwood Baby Clinic in Claremont, Cape Town.
