Not every hearing aid works the same way.
This patient wears a behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid with a custom earmould.
Unlike open-fit hearing aids, an earmould creates a secure seal in the ear canal. This helps prevent sound from escaping (feedback) while delivering the extra amplification needed for people with more significant hearing loss.
The clear tube connecting the hearing aid to the earmould naturally hardens over time , discolours and loses flexibility.
A simple re-tube restores comfort, improves sound quality and keeps the hearing aid performing as it should.
Sometimes, the smallest maintenance makes the biggest difference.
