Sunday Greetings from Adri's Home 🌻 I have lost my orchids during our home renovations when I could not properly care for them, some survived but need time to recover. Recently, I decided to start over, and gifted myself with these beautiful Phalaenopsis orchids πŸ’› Today, we celebrate National Women's Day, and the strength and resilience of all women who go through so many challenges, yet get up and start over again, holding on to their faith and the grace of God πŸ™πŸΌ We walk in the steps of the strong women in our society, and the strong women who raised and nurtured us. πŸ’ž Thanks also to the men who support the women in their lives πŸ’™ Have a Blessed Sunday, celebrating ourselves and the women in our lives πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒ»

Sunday Greeting from Adri's Garden 🌻 I have had Dipladenia in my garden many times before, but eventually they would wither and die. This time I planted them in semi-shade and added a pink Geranium with the white Dipladenia and a white Geranium with the pink Dipladenia. I also added Fuschia's in every pot, but they are still too small to bloom. The plants have multiplied in the pots, and so has my joy and gratitude that they are thriving. Today, the Gospel is about Jesus multiplying the fish and the bread to feed the crowd of 5000. This must have multiplied their gratitude at being fed, but also their faith in Jesus as the Messiah πŸ™πŸ½ Today, let us look at all the blessings in our lives that multiply our gratitude and faith in God. May we all have a Blessed Sunday ✝️🌻

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌻 I heard a little voice piping out from his dad's trolley in PicknPay, "She's got flowers!" I smiled at him and his dad at this spontaneous exclamation ☺️ As much as I love and treasure flowers and plants, today's Gospel reading of the man who sold everything to buy the field with the treasure in it, reminds us to treasure our faith in God above else. I pray that we all will exclaim by the way we live our lives, "I've got faith!" and "My treasure is my faith!" Have a blessed Sunday πŸ™πŸΌβœοΈπŸŒ»

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌻 I planted this small variegated lavender and these tiny allysum seedlings which are blooming already. Yet there is a lot of space between them where w**d seed can germinate and grow. I will have to keep a careful eye out for that, and pull any opportunistic w**ds before they can choke out the allysum, and even the lavender πŸ’œ In today's Gospel reading, Jesus speaks about the w**ds (sin, trauma, challenges, disease, pain, death, etc.) that the enemy sowed over the crops of seed (blessings, love, joy, peace, healing, etc.) the farmer (God) had sown. Let us keep a careful eye on the 'w**ds' in our lives and turn to our loving God to help us pull them out. Have a Blessed Sunday πŸ™πŸ½βœοΈπŸŒ»

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌻 These are some of the seeds I sowed in February, hoping for a colourful winter and spring display. I could not understand why the seed was taking so long to germinate. Unfortunately, between the sun drying out the soil quicker than I could water, and the birds pecking out the seed, I ended up, literally with a handful of plants out of the hundreds of seeds I sowed. Conditions were just against them. The lesson I learned is to place the trays in a more protected and cooler area. This experience reminds me of today's Gospel about the sower - God, the seed - the Word of God, and the conditions - the receptivity of our hearts. May we keep our hearts in the right conditions to always be receptive, to be hearers and doers of the Word of God πŸ™πŸ½βœοΈπŸ’œ Wishing us all a Blessed Sunday πŸ™ŒπŸ½ πŸ˜‡

Sunday Greetings from my Mom's Garden 🌷 My cousin sent this photo yesterday of a bouquet of Arum lilies from my mom's garden πŸ’œ It brought back a flood of childhood memories: climbing through the fence to the vlei beyond our yard where the wild orange tulips stood among the tall white arum lilies in late winter and spring, picking arms-full of arum lilies with my mom for the huge floral arrangements she would make, for our home and for church. And catching tadpoles in the puddles, coming home covered in mud, gleefully counting the stash of tadpoles in our tins. I am grateful for the happy childhood we had, among our family, growing up with our parents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Let us give thanks today for our parents who tried to give us their best, not materialistically, but in love, time and timeless memories ❀️ And let us pray for the children in our lives and communities today for the experience of their parents' love and time that create the timeless memories into adulthood πŸ™πŸ½ Wishing everyone a Blessed Sunday πŸ™ŒπŸ½ πŸ˜‡

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌻 The leaves of this beautiful variegated Tropical Rainbow Bougainvillea start out a pale pink and green but soon turns creamy yellow and a deeper green, with the branches draping gracefully downwards with the bright red blooms an added bonus. It is the first time that I see entire branches staying a showy pink and burgundy and staying upright for such a long time. The plant is beautiful in all its stages. May we see ourselves reflected in this: we are beautiful in all our stages, whether young and showy, or older and graceful, God has made us beautiful ✝️ Let us see beauty in each other ⚘️ Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday πŸ™πŸ½βœοΈ

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌻 The huge leaf of this Monstera is protecting and sheltering the plants below. It reminds me of God the Father's hand caring for, protecting and sheltering us, his children. Today we thank God for showing men how to be fathers. We thank God for the fathers who try their best to protect and shelter and care for their children and families. We pray that the fathers who struggle, take their example from God and other fathers. πŸ™πŸΌ Wishing everyone a Blessed Sunday ✝️ Wishing all fathers a Blessed Fathers Day ✝️🌻

Youth Day Blessings from Adri's Garden 🌻 Just like the flowers in this container, our young people are all different. We need to just interact with them regularly and meaningfully to know how to best engage with them. Today we remember the sacrifices of June 16, 1976 when many young people were killed and harmed for standing up against unjust laws in our country. Let us continue to pray for our youth, to make good choices for their spiritual and personal lives, their education, their friendships. And let us make them aware that they can always rely on the love, support and guidance of the adults in their lives πŸ™πŸ½ Have a blessed day ✝️🌻

Sunday Greetings from Adri's Garden 🌹 The blooms of the Double Delight Rose opens cream with a red edging. As it ages it turns fully red. For me this symbolises the body and blood of Jesus, as today we celebrate Corpus Christi - the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Let us always remember where our faith originates - from Jesus's body and blood that He gave for us on the cross, and His body and blood that He gives to us in the Holy Eucharist, to become like him: loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving, patient and merciful πŸ™πŸΌHave a Blessed Sunday ✝️🌹
