ABSA 10km ✅

Today’s goal was simple: run the whole way. Have fun 🤩

Andrew my hubby kept me going every step of the way, and somehow we beat our goal with an average pace of 7:40/km, finishing in 1:17. (And sprinted the last 1k is 5 mins 😂)

Am I a fast runner? Definitely not… (yet, ya girl’s got goals 💪🏼)

Considering I (we) only just got over the flu, I’m ridiculously proud of this one. I didn’t stop running once (unless you count the emergency wee stop in a very questionable port-a-potty😅)

A few months ago, 10km felt like such a big deal. Today it felt challenging, exciting, and honestly… so much fun!

If you’ve been thinking about signing up for a 10km, I hope this inspires you. You don’t have to be fast. You don’t have to look like a runner. You just have to start.

The atmosphere, the people, the music, the support - it’s such a vibe!

Here’s to chasing bigger goals, one kilometre at a time. 🏃🏼‍♀️✨

Next stop - 21km in September 😍

Feeling very lucky to have spent my Saturday morning speaking at Sr Des’s antenatal class again. 🤍

It’s been about 5 years now that I’ve been invited to chat to expectant parents about everything that comes after birth. Burping techniques, wind and gas, how to incorporate primitive parenting, baby carriers, settling babies and all the little things that nobody really teaches you until you’re holding your newborn wondering, “Is this normal?” 😅

As much as I love talking about the newborn stage, I honestly think antenatal classes are just as important for preparing for birth itself. Understanding what’s happening to your body, knowing your options, learning what to expect and walking into labour feeling educated instead of terrified can make such a difference.

But one of my favourite parts has nothing to do with the information.

It’s watching a room full of complete strangers realise they’re all in the same season of life. They ask the same questions, have the same fears and laugh about the same things. There’s something really special about building that little community before baby even arrives.

Maybe I’m biased, but I really think every expectant couple should do an antenatal course if they have the opportunity. The education is invaluable, but the confidence and friendships you leave with are just as important. Community.

A big thank you to Sr Des for having me back. It’s always such a privelage to be part of these mornings and to hopefully leave families feeling just that little bit more prepared for the exciting journey ahead. ❤️

If you’ve ever been a patient of mine, you’ve heard this analogy. I use it every single day. 🚪
And here’s why it matters:
There’s a lot of misinformation floating around chiropractic. Words like “alignment” and “resetting your spine” get thrown around constantly.. and honestly? They’re not accurate.
Here’s the simple truth:
Your body needs to move.

Your joints need to move.

When they stop moving well, things start going wrong.

When we restore that movement, your body works better.
That’s it. No magic. No “putting things back in place.” Just movement, restored.
So next time you’re at the chiropractor - don’t think about getting adjusted.

Think about getting your body to move better. ❤️

Day 2 of the Camino 🤍
Sarria to Portomarín

Supposedly 22km… my watch tracked closer to 26km 🥲

I don’t think I was fully prepared for how physically hard this would be. Yesterday honestly felt like one of the most humbling things I’ve ever done. The steep uphills are brutal… but somehow the steep downhills might be worse 😅🥲 (RIP my quads.)

But beyond the physical side of it, I don’t think I can even properly explain what it feels like to be here.

Hundreds of people from all over the world. Different languages, ages, stories and walks of life all moving in the same direction together. And one of the most incredible things to witness has been seeing people with disabilities doing this too- amputees, blind pilgrims, people walking through pain and limitation with unbelievable determination.

It really puts things into perspective very quickly.

Only 2 days in and I can already tell this is going to be one of those life changing experiences that stays with me forever.

Buen Camino ✨

Today I leave for Spain 🇪🇸

I still can’t quite believe I’m saying that.

Walking the Camino has been on my bucket list for SO many years, since my parents did it about 15 years ago. One of those dreams that always felt a little far away, a little unrealistic, a little like “maybe one day.”

And somehow… it’s real now. My first time traveling internationally in 7 years 🥹

I’m very nervous, excited, underprepared (I know zero Spanish except for Ola! Café?) 😂 and so deeply grateful that I get to do this.

A week of walking, slowing down, fresh air, tiny towns, sore feet, good coffee, and hopefully a little perspective too.

If anyone has Camino tips, essentials, things you wish you knew before you went - please send them my way 🤍
