Huntington’s disease is caused by a faulty gene passed down through families, meaning each child of an affected parent has a 50% chance of inheriting it. Despite its profound impact on individuals and entire families, many people still know very little about the disease and the daily challenges faced by those living with it. Awareness month is about education, compassion, support for caregivers, funding for research, and giving a voice to families who often struggle in silence. Every conversation, shared story, and act of support helps bring hope closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
