We have become terribly impatient with our bodies.
A headache arrives.
Make it stop.
Our back hurts.
Fix it.
We can't sleep.
Give me something.
We're exhausted.
Give me more energy.
We treat the body almost like a badly behaved employee:
"I don't particularly care what's going on... just get back to work."
Yet we rarely ask a much more interesting question:
What has my body been dealing with before it finally got my attention?
Think about what we ask of it.
Sit for eight hours.
Rush between appointments.
Sleep too little.
Carry children.
Lift things badly.
Drive for hours.
Scroll with our heads bent forward.
Clench our jaws when we're stressed.
Hold our breath when we're anxious.
Keep going when we're exhausted.
And then we're surprised when the body eventually says:
Enough.
Perhaps discomfort isn't always the body failing us.
Sometimes it may simply be the moment we finally notice that something needs attention.
That's why I think we need a little more patience with our bodies.
Not fear.
Not frustration.
Curiosity.
Instead of only asking:
"How quickly can I make this feeling disappear?"
perhaps occasionally ask:
"What has my body been trying to tell me?"
Body Stress Release takes a gentle approach to identifying areas of stored body stress and encouraging the body's natural process of releasing tension.
No forcing.
No twisting.
No trying to bully the body into behaving.
Just working with the body rather than constantly fighting against it.
đź’™ If your body has been asking for your attention lately, perhaps it's time to listen.
