On 9 August 1956, approximately 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against apartheid pass laws. Seventy years later, we remember their courage and the lasting impact of their actions.

It is with great sadness that we join South Africans in mourning the passing of Luqobo "Bibo" Makwedini.

A promising young rugby talent, Bibo's passion, dedication, and character left a lasting impression on those who knew him. His life, though far too short, touched many both on and off the field.
