Ever been so sure you saw or heard something… and then realised you didn’t? 👀
Your brain is constantly trying to make sense of the world as quickly as possible.
Through perceptual completion, it fills in missing information based on past experiences—so you can understand your environment faster.
But… it also means:
• What we perceive isn’t always fully accurate
• We can miss details without realising
• Our brain sometimes “guesses” to keep things efficient
🧠 In therapy, this matters.
When perception is affected (like after neurological injury), individuals may miss parts of their environment—impacting safety and independence.
✨ Awareness is the first step to better processing.
