💡 Understanding Haemophilia in Children 💡

Haemophilia is a genetic bleeding disorder where blood doesn’t clot properly. It mostly affects boys, but girls can be affected too.

⚠️ Signs to Look Out For:
🩸 Frequent bruising
🩸 Prolonged bleeding from cuts
🩸 Swollen, painful joints
🩸 Bleeding after injections or minor injuries

-Regular treatment keeps kids active and healthy
-Safe play is encouraged (with guidance!)

Meningococcal B disease is rare but when it happens, it can progress very quickly.

Many parents have never heard of the Men B vaccine, simply because it isn’t part of the routine government vaccine schedule in South Africa.

But it is available privately, and for some families it’s an important option to consider.

Meningococcal infections can cause:
• meningitis
• bloodstream infections (sepsis)

Early symptoms can look like a normal viral illness, which is one of the reasons prevention is so valuable.

Every family’s situation is different, so it’s always best to discuss vaccines with your paediatrician.
