Wanted suspect and Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality infrastructure damage and cable theft suspect apprehended by officer.

Yesterday at around 10h00 the Red Alert control centre received information of cable theft in progress near a site on Settlers Way.

Our armed response team was dispatched and on arrival saw two men busy digging up and cutting cable. As he approached the two individuals, one of the men ran and the other attacked our officer with a panga. Luckily our officer disarmed and apprehended the man shortly after, without anyone being harmed. While investigating the scene it was also found that he has a warrant of arrest out for house breaking.

The suspect was then arrested and handed over to Law Enforcement, where a case had been opened. Well done to our officer!

Poacher apprehended by officer.

Today at around 12h30 our community Liason was patroling in Nahoon, in Reef road, when he came across someone that was attempting to lay a trap for the illegal poaching of animals. Our member immediately stopped and apprehended the man with traps and snares in hand.

The suspect was then arrested and handed over to Law Enforcement, where a case has been opened.

It has been a massive problem in the area for some time now and we will continue to make efforts to curb this crime.

Break-in syndicate dealt blow through intelligence driven operation.

The past few days we have been investigating a syndicate that has been breaking into homes in Kugompo but mainly the areas of Nahoon, Stirling and Bonniedoon.

Yesterday through an intelligence driven operation our team located the vehicle and individuals involved coming towards East London on the N2 using multiple resources and our tracing team.

We intercepted the vehicle but upon noticing our teams. The vehicle and suspects fled and a high speed chase incurred. The driver who is known to us was driving on the wrong side of the road and was driving in an extremely reckless and dangerous manor. Almost causing multiple accidents, making our team withdraw back at stages in the interest of public safety. The Chase came to an end when the vehicle entered into Npumalelo and suspects fleeing. Our teams managed to recover the vehicle with stolen goods.

The vehicle which is a rental has been impounded and the investigation is on going. Hopefully soon the individuals involved will be apprehended and we can get another syndicate off our streets.

Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality cable theft and infrastructure damage suspect apprehended by officer.

This morning at around 11h00 one of our armed response officers was performing a crime prevention patrol in Smythlands Road, when he was flagged down by members of the public that there are men stealing cable at the corner of Smythlands and Bridalpath Road.

Our member immediately went to where it was said the men were. Upon seeing our vehicle, the men fled but our officer gave chase and apprehended one of the suspects with stolen goods and tools in hand.

The suspect was then arrested and handed over to Law Enforcement, where a case has been opened.

Break-in suspect apprehended by officers.

This morning at around 03h00, our control centre received information of a break-in and theft in progress in Douglas Road.

Our armed response team was dispatched with the SAPS and on arrival, were given the descriptions of the suspects. Our team tracked down one of the suspects and apprehended him with stolen goods in hand.

The SAPS detained the suspect and a case has been opened. Well done to our team and SAPS!
