I took a day off to reflect on my 27-year journey with Allen. He was like a big brother to me.
He was part of my team; loyal, punctual, and always available, 24/7, at any time and in any kind of weather.
We work with death and the deceased on a daily basis, but this one cuts deep. This is not close to home; this is home. We spend our days together, always communicating, laughing, and supporting our clients. We argued a lot, but we always knew what we had in each other.
So, namens ek en my span, Allen…
Thank you, Allen, for knowing that this calling is to glorify God and to honour Him in the way we serve the families He entrusts to us.
You were always presentable, and your conduct represented our team well, both on and off duty. Your work was always of a high standard. Whether it was preparing the site at the graveside or preparing a body for the family’s final goodbye, it was always done with the love, respect, passion, and dignity with which you served.
On behalf of the team at Pacaltsdorp Funeral Services, Allen’s family, and myself, Unity, thank you for the support, prayers, and kind words of encouragement that we have received since Allen’s passing.
This week will be difficult for us as a team as we prepare for the final goodbye to our friend, colleague, and mentor. We appreciate your continued support in prayer, and we promise to inform you as soon as we have finalised the arrangements.
Thank you,
Unity
