A box full of sensory fun!

Buried treasure, little hands and lots of learning.

Searching through a box of Styrofoam peas to find hidden toys is a fun way to develop tactile discrimination, helping children identify and distinguish objects through touch, without relying on their eyes.

It also encourages sensory exploration, fine motor skills and problem-solving.

When physio turns into a party!

Kelly and Tammy brought the singing, dancing and clapping to Hannah’s physiotherapy session with Nicky, and Hannah was absolutely DELIGHTED. That gorgeous smile said it all.

Sometimes, all we need is a little music, a lot of encouragement and some happy vibes to make even the toughest tasks feel like fun.

At Therapy Hub, we believe that progress comes in many forms… and sometimes it comes with a soundtrack and a whole lot of dancing.

Hold on tight, Charlie! Bridget is putting those skills to the test.

Charlie is holding on for dear life while Bridget gives the bolster swing a good jiggle, trying to shake him off.

But this is about so much more than just hanging on and having fun.

Why is this important in occupational therapy?

Core strength & stability – keeping his body steady while the swing moves.

Motor planning & coordination – adjusting his body and movements to stay on.

Proprioception – helping his brain understand where his body is and how much force to use.

Balance & postural control – responding to movement and maintaining stability.

Vestibular processing – experiencing movement and changes in position, helping the brain process information about balance and motion.

Confidence & body awareness – learning what his body can do, taking on challenges and celebrating success.

Because sometimes, getting shaken up is exactly what helps those little bodies and brains grow.

Build it, hide, crash… and discover!

Who knew knocking down a tower could be such valuable therapy?

Nicky, our neurodevelopmental physiotherapist, uses playful activities like this to work on so much more than movement.

As one sibling builds and hides beneath the soft blocks, the other becomes the wrecking ball, jumping in to bring the tower tumbling down.

Through this fun, interactive game, the children are working on:

✨ Body and spatial awareness

✨ Balance, coordination and motor planning

✨ Core strength and postural control

✨ Vestibular and proprioceptive processing through jumping and crashing

✨ Problem-solving and anticipation

✨ Social interaction, turn-taking and shared play

The tower comes tumbling down, the giggles get louder, and every crash creates another opportunity to move, explore and connect.
