This Physio Awareness Week, our Bertha Gxowa team wants to see health promotion move beyond our hospital walls and straight into your local neighbourhood. We are officially challenging you to start a walking club in your own community!
Grab three neighbors, pick a regular weekly time, and start walking your way to better cardiovascular health.
Movement is Medicine: The South African Journal of Physiotherapy highlights that just 30 minutes of daily brisk walking drastically lowers blood pressure, improves blood vessel function, and protects brain health.
Every Second Counts: Using the B.E. F.A.S.T. method to spot a stroke early saves brain tissue. If you notice Balance loss, Eye changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, or Slurred speech, act immediately.
