💙 THE UPPER HIGHWAY BUILT THIS PLAYGROUND 💙

Something very exciting is happening at Singatha Centre!

We have officially launched our campaign to raise R100,000 for a new inclusive playground for our incredible children with special needs.

As a special needs tutor and therapy centre, we know that a playground is so much more than somewhere to play. For our learners, climbing can build strength and confidence, movement can support regulation, and playing alongside others creates opportunities for communication, connection and friendship. It becomes another extension of their learning and therapy.

And we want the Upper Highway community to help us build it. 🫶

Every donation, every business that comes on board, and every person who shares our campaign brings us closer to creating a space where our children can play, grow, connect and discover what they can do.

Today was filled with smiles, laughter and lots of fun! 📸⚽️🐴

Our kiddies enjoyed Photo Day, Action Ball and Horse Riding - three very exciting activities all in one day! We loved seeing their happy faces, big smiles and excitement throughout the day.

It was definitely a Friday to remember! 🥰💛

🌟 Building Life Skills Through Learning! 🌟

Today in our Life Skills class, our autistic learners practised an important everyday skill — hanging up washing! 🧺👕

This activity was about so much more than just getting the laundry on the line. Our learners were developing fine motor skills by grasping pegs, opening and closing them, coordinating both hands, and carefully placing clothing onto the line. They were also working on hand-eye coordination, concentration, sequencing, independence and confidence. 💪✨

Every peg clipped and every item hung is another step towards greater independence in daily life. We are so proud of the effort, persistence and enthusiasm shown by our learners! ❤️

🌸 Happy Women’s Day from Singatha Centre 🌸

Today, we honour the incredible women who show up, love fiercely, advocate loudly, nurture gently and keep going (even on the hard days). 💙

To the remarkable women who make up our Singatha team — thank you. Thank you for the patience, compassion, energy and heart you pour into our children every single day. Working with children with special needs asks for a very special kind of person, and we are so grateful for the women who choose to give so much of themselves to our children.

To the mothers of our special needs children — we see you. The appointments, the sleepless nights, the worrying, the advocating, and the celebration of milestones that others may take for granted. Your strength and love are extraordinary.

And to the grandmothers, sisters, aunties, caregivers, teachers and women who step into the gap and love, protect and advocate for a child as though they were their own — today, we celebrate you too.

To the women in our wider community who support, uplift and make space for our children and their families — thank you.

Women are nurturers, advocates, leaders, teachers, caregivers and changemakers.

And together, strong women are helping to build a world where every child has a place to belong. 💙🦋

Today was a day well spent! ❤️

A big thank you to Sister Estè from Survival CPR, First Aid and Caregiver Courses for an amazing First Aid course. We learnt so much, shared lots of laughs, and walked away feeling more confident and better equipped.

As teachers, our learners are always our first priority, so knowing what to do in an emergency is something we never take for granted. We're grateful for the opportunity to learn new skills that could one day make all the difference.

Thank you, Sister Estè, for your patience, encouragement, and for making the day so enjoyable. We loved every minute! 🚑😊

Our amazing teachers have been making the most of their well-deserved holiday, spending quality time with friends, children, pets, and family, exploring new places, having fun, relaxing, and taking time to refresh and replenish. 💛 We can't wait to welcome everyone back, re-energised and ready for an exciting Term 3! 🌿✨
