This Women’s Month, we celebrate the women who lead, care, teach, build, support and inspire — often wearing more hats than anyone ever sees. 💜

Here’s to strong women, and to creating spaces where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Happy Women’s Month! 🌸

Toilet challenges are common, but they're not something children simply have to "grow out of." 💜

Paediatric physiotherapists can play an important role in assessing and treating bladder and bowel difficulties, helping children develop healthy habits and improve their confidence.

A referral may be appropriate if a child experiences:
🚽 Daytime urinary accidents after being toilet trained
💧 Bedwetting that is causing concern
💜 Constipation or painful bowel movements
🩲 Stool accidents (soiling)
⏰ Difficulty toilet training or delayed toileting skills
⚠️ Frequent urgency or needing to rush to the toilet

With the right support, many children can make significant progress, improving both their quality of life and their family's daily routine.

If you're a parent or healthcare professional and you're unsure whether physiotherapy could help, don't hesitate to reach out. Early support can make a real difference. 🌱

Throwback to all the public toilets I used while on holiday in the UK.

Strange I know but as a pelvic floor physio... access to the toilet is always important- for me and for my clients.

Well done UK.... it was always easy to find a loo in a pub or at a station(long ques and a bit smelly but clean) or the local supermarket. And there was always an accessible toilet available for differently able people🙌🙌

Not sure how accessible this is in SA... maybe I will do a Part 2.....

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is supporting fellow healthcare professionals through continuing education. 💜

Every course is an opportunity to share practical PAEDIATRIC PELVIC HEALTH knowledge, discuss real clinical cases and learn from one another's experiences.

Ultimately, every therapist who grows in confidence has the potential to positively impact many more children and families.

Thank you to everyone who recently attended my latest course. Your enthusiasm, questions and engagement made it such an enjoyable experience. 🙏

I'm looking forward to the next one already.

Children don't just play for fun. 🌈

They're developing:
✨ Balance
✨ Strength
✨ Coordination
✨ Confidence
✨ Problem-solving

Play is one of the most powerful ways children learn about their bodies and the world around them.

If you've ever wondered whether your child is meeting movement milestones or toileting miletones or seems less confident than their p*ers - a paediatric physiotherapy assessment can provide reassurance, guidance and practical strategies.

Sometimes a little support goes a long way. 💜

Children don't develop in isolated areas - and neither should we. 🤝

One child may benefit from input from a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, sp*ech therapist, psychologist or paediatrician.

Each profession brings a different perspective especially when it comes to p*e, poo and toileting.

When we communicate, collaborate and refer appropriately, children receive more holistic care and families feel better supported. 💜

Working together isn't just good practice - it's often the key to better outcomes.

Here's to building stronger multidisciplinary teams.

When people hear physiotherapy, they often picture rehabilitation after an injury.

But paediatric pelvic health physiotherapy is so much more than that. 💜

As therapists, we're looking at how a child moves, plays, explores and develops. Small movement patterns can tell us a lot about strength, balance, coordination, posture and overall development.

Sometimes a few simple strategies or exercises can make everyday toileting function much easier for both the child and their family 🚽.

Early intervention is about being a detective - it's about helping children reach their full potential through movement and play. 🌱

If you're a healthcare professional working with children, collaboration between disciplines can make a tremendous difference.
