Day 2 of the Gauteng Department of Health’s Strategic Planning Lekgotla is underway, with Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, , leading critical discussions aimed at charting new directions to strengthen and improve healthcare services across the province.
The Lekgotla has brought together senior leadership from the Head Office, hospital CEOs, clinical managers, programme managers, and other key stakeholders to collectively shape the Department’s strategic priorities.
At the heart of these engagements are key focus areas, including maternal, neonatal, child and women’s health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, mental health services, clinical governance and quality of care, the advancement of a fully integrated digital healthcare system, and strengthening infrastructure and financial management.
In addition, the Lekgotla is also focusing on efforts to ensure the adequate medical professionals and support staff to meet the growing demand for healthcare services in Gauteng. This platform continues to drive a unified vision for a responsive, resilient, and people-centred public health system.
