🌿 Tip of the Week: Boundaries

Children thrive when they know what is expected of them. Clear, consistent boundaries can make everyday routines feel more predictable and help children navigate their world with greater confidence. 💚

Whether it’s setting limits around play, screen time, routines or personal space, boundaries provide children with structure while still allowing them to explore and grow. 🦋

Need help finding the right boundaries for your child? Feel free to contact me — I’m always happy to help! 💚

🐴 More Than Just Hoof Picking...

While hoof picking isn't part of the horse's movement used in Hippotherapy, it is still an incredibly valuable therapeutic activity with many benefits.

Every task in and around the horse can be an opportunity for growth. ❤️

✨ Therapeutic benefits of hoof picking:
• 💪 Improves upper limb and grip strength
• 🦴 Provides active proprioceptive input through pushing, pulling, and applying pressure
• ⚖️ Challenges balance and postural control
• 🤸 Improves core stability
• 🧠 Encourages motor planning and sequencing
• 🤲 Develops bilateral coordination (using both hands together)
• 👀 Strengthens visual-motor integration and hand-eye coordination
• 🎯 Enhances body awareness
• ⏳ Builds attention, concentration, and task persistence
• 🛡️ Encourages safe problem-solving and following instructions
• ❤️ Develops confidence, responsibility, and independence
• 🐎 Strengthens the human-horse bond through trust and care

Sometimes the greatest therapeutic moments happen before we even get in the saddle. Every interaction with the horse offers an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop meaningful life skills.

A very special welcome to the newest member of our herd... 🤍🐴

Meet Secret (officially Secret Shot).

Although we've only just met him, he's already made quite an impression! Secret is wonderfully goofy, incredibly gentle, and has the sweetest, kindest nature. We can't wait to get to know him better and watch him settle into his new home.

A huge thank you to Reoné Tutton for trusting us with this special boy and believing that our stableyard was the right place for his next chapter. We are truly grateful for your confidence in us and will do our very best to give Secret the love, care, and future he deserves. ❤️

Keep an eye out for his Meet & Greet post coming soon, where we'll introduce you to this handsome boy properly. And if you're visiting the farm, be sure to come and say hi—we're sure he'd love to meet you too! 🤍

Welcome to the family, Secret. We can't wait to see what this new chapter has in store. ✨

It's about time we properly introduced one of the biggest personalities in the stable... Vonkie! 🐴✨

Meet Vonkie—our 3-year-old Basotho pony whose name means "little spark" (or sparkie) in Afrikaans. And trust us... the name suits him perfectly! ⚡🤎

If there's one thing you should know about Vonkie, it's that he LOVES to eat. 🍎🥕🌿

If it's food, he'll eat it.
If it might be food, he'll investigate.
If you're carrying a snack... he's already your best friend. 😂

Being the youngest horse in the stable definitely makes him our resident goofball. He's curious, playful, and always keeping us on our toes with his antics.

But behind all that silliness is one of the gentlest souls you'll ever meet. When it's time to work with our little therapy or riding lesson participants, Vonkie is patient, kind, and incredibly caring. He has a special way of making children feel safe, confident, and loved. 💚

We feel so lucky to have this sweet, snack-loving little spark as part of our team.

Welcome to the spotlight, Vonkie! ✨🐴

🐴💚 The Magic of Hippotherapy

Hippotherapy is so much more than riding a horse—it's a unique occupational therapy approach that uses the horse's natural movement to promote physical, emotional and cognitive development.

Beyond the therapeutic benefits, horses have an incredible ability to build confidence, encourage connection and create a calm, supportive environment where growth happens naturally.

Every session is a reminder that healing, learning and joy can all happen one step at a time. ✨

There is something truly special about the connection between humans and horses. ❤️🐴

In therapy, horses offer so much more than movement—they provide a safe, non-judgemental space where confidence can grow, emotions can be explored, and meaningful relationships can be built.

Working alongside horses can help individuals:
✨ Build self-confidence and self-esteem
✨ Develop emotional regulation and resilience
✨ Improve communication and social interaction
✨ Foster trust, empathy, and connection
✨ Reduce stress and anxiety
✨ Experience a sense of achievement and belonging

Horses don't care about diagnoses or labels. They respond to authenticity, patience, and presence, making every interaction an opportunity for growth.

Sometimes, the greatest therapy happens without words—just one step, one breath, and one connection at a time. 💙🐎
