Many eye conditions can develop without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Regular comprehensive eye examinations are an important part of protecting your vision and looking after your overall wellbeing.

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆

- Don’t wait for blurry vision. Changes in eye health can occur before you notice a difference in your sight.

- Eye examinations can detect hidden eye conditions and subtle changes that may otherwise go unnoticed.

- Your eyes can reflect your overall health. Certain systemic health conditions may cause changes that can be detected during an eye examination.

- Medical conditions can affect your eyes too. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can have secondary effects on eye health and vision.

- Make regular eye examinations part of your wellness routine.

Healthy eyes are about more than seeing clearly — they’re part of caring for your whole health.

💻 Your Eyes Work Hard Every Day

Between work, family and screen time, women's eyes rarely get a break. Small daily habits can reduce eye strain and keep your vision comfortable.

👁 Give Your Eyes a Break:

• Follow the 20-20-20 rule — every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
• Blink more often to help reduce dryness.
• Make sure you have comfortable, appropriate lighting while working.
• Get enough quality sleep to give your eyes time to rest and recover.

Small habits can make a big difference to how your eyes feel at the end of the day.

Pregnancy hormones can temporarily affect your eyes, causing changes in vision and comfort. Most of these changes are temporary. Sudden or severe vision changes should be assessed promptly by your healthcare provider.

Keep in mind:

• 👁 Mild blurred vision may be temporary.
• 💧 Dry eyes can become more noticeable.
• ⚠ Sudden visual changes require immediate attention.
• 👓 Delay updating spectacle prescriptions until after pregnancy unless necessary.

.Protect Your Sight as You Age

🌼 Healthy Vision is Part of Healthy Ageing

Women have a greater lifetime risk of several eye diseases simply because they tend to live longer. Regular eye examinations help detect problems before vision is affected.

Remember:
• 👁 Cataracts become more common with age.
• 🌿 Glaucoma often has no early symptoms.
• 🌅 Macular degeneration affects central vision.
• ✅ Early detection offers the best chance of preserving sight.

💜 Healthy Eyes Start With a Healthy Body

Autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and Sjögren's syndrome are more common in women and can affect the eyes. Early detection helps protect both your vision and overall health.

Key Points
• 👁 Dry eyes are often an early sign.
• 🔍 Inflammation can affect different parts of the eye.
• 🤝 Regular eye care supports overall health management.
• ✅ Report persistent redness, pain, severe light sensitivity or blurred vision promptly.
