The Super New Moon in Gemini approaches and will be exact at 10:53 PM EDT today, June 14.
In traditional tarot, The Lovers is the card associated with Gemini. Although it’s often interpreted as a card of romance, I’ve always felt its deeper meaning has more to do with choice & alignment.
As Uranus begins his seven-year journey through Gemini, I find myself wondering if we’re about to witness a profound shift in the way we think about relationships.
For much of human history, relationships often served practical purposes. People partnered for survival, security, social standing, economic stability & to build families and communities. Those structures have helped societies function for generations.
Today, many people are capable of supporting themselves financially. Women have opportunities that didn’t exist for previous generations. We are more connected than ever before, yet many people are also questioning long-held assumptions about partnership, commitment & what it means to build a meaningful life with another person.
What if the relationships that thrive in the years ahead are the ones that encourage growth, curiosity, honest communication & personal freedom?
What if we increasingly choose partners, friends & collaborators not because we need them to complete us, but because they inspire us to become more fully ourselves?
What if the most successful relationships of the future are built upon mutual respect, shared values, intellectual connection & a genuine desire to support one another’s evolution?
To me, this feels like another expression of liberation. Not freedom from relationship, but freedom from outdated ideas about how relationships are supposed to work.
The Lovers reminds us that love is ultimately a choice, and this Gemini New Moon may also be inviting us to consider who we are choosing, why we are choosing them, and perhaps most importantly, who we become as a result of those choices.
