Have you ever noticed how much of our emotional exhaustion comes from expecting other people to behave the way we would?
"They didn't visit me, so why should I visit them?"
"They didn't come to my function, so I'm not going to theirs."
"They didn't bring anything for me, so I'm not taking anything."
But what if we focused on the only thing we truly have control over?
✨ My business. Your business. Allah's business.
My business is my character, my intentions, my actions, and my relationship with Allah.
Your business is the choices you make.
Allah's business is what I cannot see, cannot control, and was never meant to carry.
We don't know what burdens someone is silently carrying. Financial struggles. Illness. Grief. Depression. Anxiety. Responsibilities that no one else sees.
So instead of allowing someone else's actions to determine who we become, let us strive to do what is pleasing to Allah regardless of what others choose.
There is so much peace in staying in your lane, doing your part with sincerity, and trusting Allah with the rest.
