Dave Ferguson uses a clever acronym to explain and describe church planting. His idea was to make it simple, so simple, in fact, that anyone could do it, even an ordinary person at their dining room table.

The Ramp Up initiative of Disability Sunday continuously reminds us to embrace everyone, make space for everyone, celebrate our diversity and differences, and thank God that we all have a place in the house of the Lord.
We are all invited to participate because the table of God is the most welcoming, loving, sacred, and safest place we can be.
It is a place where we have the freedom to be ourselves, to celebrate everything we can and cannot do, and to know that, no matter what, there will be support, appreciation, understanding, and compassion.

L for Live It: Discover and obey God's word together
E for Empty Chair: Love your neighbour - invite your neighbour

When organising Disability Sunday in your church (mostly done on 30 August 2026), be mindful of the needs of people with hearing loss. Here is helpful information:

How can people with hearing loss be included in faith communities?

Background noise, like other conversations or fractious children may cause severe restrictions. Fellow congregants can be encouraged to keep private conversations to a minimum, while many faith communities have a Parent's Room for when children become bored or mothers wish to feed their babies.
